Assignment #2

My Childhood

1) Well according to my mom the first five years of my life was God sent. When i was born i had heart problem, my heart had stopped for 1 whole minute. So it is a blessing for me to be here today. She said i was a good baby, i didn't cry very much. I just sat around sucking up everything everyone was saying and doing. As i grew up my mother said i didn't like to do what all the other kids were doing. I just stayed in the house right by her side all day everyday. I guess you can say i was a mama's girl, and i still am. She said i was the quiet one out of all my other siblings.
2) She said i loved to sit around her were ever she was playing with my dolls and my other toys. I didn't really like going outside. The only time i really liked going outside was either go go bike riding with my mom or rollerblading. Like i said before my mom thought i was unique because i was the shy one out of all her kids. I really didn't talk much and i kept to myself.
3) My mom said she always knew i would become a nurse because out of all her other kids i was the one always interested with what happened at her job everyday. I use to play doctor all the time with my mom, with her acting like she was sick and me healing her.

Class activity

One of the things i wrote about in class was that i use to go bike riding and rollerblading with my mom. I don't think i really liked doing those things, i just liked spending quality time with my mom. So instead of us going out bike riding or rollerblading seeing that it is winter time; we decided to go bowling. This gave me the chance to spend time with my mom and to also beat her at a game she use to always beat me at when i was younger. Doing this with my mom made me feel like a kid agian because since i came to college i havent been spending as much time with her as i use to.

1.) When i first registered for this class i was hoping to learn more about my African American heritage because i thought that is what this class would have been about. But when i actually found out what the class was really about i kinda wondered if this class was for me. So now my outlook on the class have changed. I want to take this class to help me work with others, and to teach me how to be a leader in myself.
2.) I hope to become more social with people, and i hope to be able to communicate better with people.
3.) a) I loved to go to work with my mom as a child. I loved watching her take care of people in the nursing homes. This is why i want to be a nurse till this day.
b) I lived most through sight and hearing.
c) I loved to play sports with my brothers when i was a child.
d) I'm not sure of any secret and dreams i had as a child. I have really bad memory so i cant remember back that far.
e) I still love to play sports with my brother and father. Every chance i get i play with them to see if i have gotten better and if i'm able to beat them now.
f) I am really good at basketball, all the practice payed off.
